Saunderton No. 2 via West Wycombe 26.04.2025

Glenn’s report: 10 walkers gathered at Saunderton Station and with perfect walking weather forecast we set about our day. With a strong pace we made our way to Bradenham and up towards Naphill Common. Even with the recent dry weather we still came across a little mud but nothing to dirty our elegant attire. Whilst still in the Common we came across another larger walking group who were on a 20 miler but gladly none of our group decided to join them. Thank goodness!! Ahead of schedule we landed at Hughenden Manor for a relaxed lunch. With our energy restored we headed to West Wycombe via Downley. A pub stop was on the cards and lime and soda was very much the drink of the day. With a clear path ahead of us up towards the ridge even a little steeper detour was taken….Yep! no stopping these guys today. We finished back at Saunderton in good time for those getting the train. Todays walk was announced late and thank you to everyone who joined me at such short notice. The hills seemed flatter than normal today which suggests to me we are nearly ready for Dovedale. The sun shone on us today and we certainly shone back with laughter and banter, with conversation and friendship. Thank you all for trusting me with your Saturday. It’s always a pleasure. See you at Christmas Common.
