John Harper writes: Tess was joined by 9 two-legged walkers as we set off from a slightly chilly Moor Park station as we skirted the first golf course of the day. We continued on and reached Oxhey Woods where had a brief snack stop and we paused to admire the bluebells – probably a couple of weeks before they reach their best. Shortly after we diverged from the Loop in order to avoid Pinner Wood Farm – which can get seriously muddy! Our detour did allow for a coffee stop at Pinner Hill Golf Club. After skirting Pinner Hill Golf Club, we made our way to the other side of Oxhey Lane and ascended via the edge of Grimsdyke Golf Club and on past Gilberts Lake (photo 1).By now the sun had appeared and we enjoyed a pleasant lunch break at the view point on Old Redding (photo 2 attached}. After lunch it was Harrow Weald Common, Stanmore Common and on to Stanmore Country Park. We were alert to a plaque on a bench which was there to commemorate 28 years as Warden by Margaret’s late husband John. We continued on through the park and exited near Stanmore station for buses/tubes home. Thanks to all and particular thanks for David in his role as co-leader.
