Hansa’s report: Blessed with sunshine again, what a splendid day for climbing some hills and admiring the beautiful Chilterns! 11 cheerful souls set off on a scenic walk with some minor undulations. Our first rewarding breath-taking view was overlooking Bluey’s farm where we stopped to admire the views, have our morning break and peel back some of our layers! This was followed by a steep ascent to Copy Green. Our second ascent took us to Bovingdon Green where we stopped for lunch and some of the walkers took the advantage of visiting the Royal Oak pub for rehydration. We continued through Marlow Common and on our ascent to Lower Woodend, we were joined by a family of owls (site of group photo). After 10 miles, there was the opportunity to cut the walk short but this was rejected by all the walkers. We continued to Frieth where we rested our weary legs and re-energised ourselves before the final undulation to Lane End. Overall, an enjoyable walk with good company and for some new walkers, it was their first taste of the Chilterns, so let’s hope they were hooked on the Chiltern beauty!
