Travel: from Harrow on the Hill Station take the Metropolitan line (10:02 arriving 10:22)  to Watford.
Nature of walk: This walk starts through Cassiobury Park and then joins the canal and we walk north. It is a pleasant Canal sidewalk. There is a café at a Garden Centre en route which has proved popular in the past. I still take my own sandwiches! There are frequent trains back from Berkhamsted to Euston. For those who have the energy a walk around the ruins of Berkhampstead Castle which is owned by English Heritage is worthwhile.
