Hilary’s Report: We were 8 today (9 with Tess) for our walk up to Potten End. On the way we crossed Berkhamsted Common, then circuited the Big Field ( a wonderful open space beloved of dog walkers and horse riders). After a pause for the photo and a snack in the corner of the Field, we made our way to the hamlet of Frithsden and then to Potten End in time for a late lunch. Sensing that a torrential downpour with thunder and lightning was looming, we made a dash for our conservatory and piled in – a bit of a squash but at least we were dry! Later it was pleasantly sunny for the return walk down to the canal and along to the station. In all, it was a very nice day despite the weather!
