Sara’s Report: I really must try in future to write up the walk report immediately after the walk and not a week later when I am struggling to recall what happened!! In a week, the month and the weather has changed but I recall that Thursday 28th August was a pleasant day. Indeed, it was warm enough to sit outside Little Missenden Church and the Red Lion pub where it was lovely to spend some time chatting with Martin and Janet and fellow hikers.
We had a great group of walkers that day as well as Tess the dog. Martin walked back with us to Amersham where the group split, some to return to the station and the rest of us to scoff ice cream before our uphill trek back to the Met Line.
I also recall that Kevin kindly carried a natural history specimen, found in the Electric Wood, back with him to the station for a walker to use in educating young naturalists . Another walker also purchased a lot of cheese!
All in all, a very enjoyable late summers walk in the beautiful Chilterns.
