Walk from Amersham Station to Martin’s funeral

Travel: From Harrow on the Hill station: the choices are the 0945 Met line arriving at Amersham at 10:19 or the 0954 Chiltern Railway arriving at 10:16.
Nature of Walk: Meet at Amersham Station at 10:20. We then walk the 1.9 miles to the crematorium aiming to reach there by 1110. The service is at 11:30.
We leave the crematorium after the service and walk the 2.5 miles to The Hit or Miss public house in Penn Street. I’m sure that those who will want to hitch a ride from somebody might be able to do so but I will walk.
After the Pub there is a walk of about 4.5 miles back to Amersham. this is not the most direct, but it is certainly the prettiest.
The total length is about 9 miles with the potential option of reducing it by 2 1/2 miles if you get a lift from the crematorium to the Pub.
I think it would be a fitting way to remember Martin by walking on the day of his funeral.
I will do a recce of the whole walk before the 28th.
I guarantee that I will come into the pub this time and I certainly won’t be bringing a packed lunch.
