Oyster 60+ & Freedom pass users: please buy a return extension ticket to/from Great Missenden.\nNature of walk:  a lovely stroll through the Chilterns\, enjoying beechwoods\, gentle hills\, field paths\, views\, a country pub (possible coffee stop) and an ancient church at Great Missenden. We will walk to the church\, where after 4 miles we will enjoy a picnic lunch and then return to Great Missenden for an optional pub/cafe stop.

DESCRIPTION:General Area:  Tring Station\, Wiggington\, Aldbury\, Ashridge\, The Ridgeway\nMiles 10.5 Grade: Moderate – undulating\, one longish climb to Ashridge visitors centre\nMeeting Time: 10.05 Meeting Place: Tring Station\nLeader: John Harper Mobile: 07947 894930\nTravel: Take 9:36 from Harrow & Wealdstone station\, arriving at Tring station at 10:02\nNature of Walk: We follow the Ridgeway to Wiggington (approx 2.5 miles) where we will have a coffee and loo stop (no loos at Tring station) at the community cafe/shop. Please buy a drink if you want to use the loo. We follow the Chiltern way\, crossing the Grand Union canal at Cow Roast and heading for the pretty village of Aldbury (used in Midsommer Murders and an episode of the Avengers). From there we ascend to the Ashridge Visitors centre (approx 6.5 miles) for lunch stop. Public loos and cafe available. We then head for Clipper Down\, before rejoining the Ridgeway and returning to Tring Station.

The route goes through Cassiobury Park and onto the  Chilterns. Lunch is either in the churchyard or in the pub at Saratt. It is a lovely country walk. We return from Chalfont and Latimer back on the Metropolitan line.

Easy\nMeeting Time: 10.00 Meeting Place: St Johns Wood Station\nLeader: Michael Romain Mobile: 07818 000849\nTravel: from Harrow on the Hill\, station catch the 9:35 Met Line train to Baker Street and change at Finchley Road station for Jubilee Line train to Stratford\, arriving at St John’s Wood Station at 9:53.\nNature of Walk: This follows the Regents Canal from Regents Park through the Zoo past Camden Town and the new Kings Cross development which is ever changing  to the terminus of the canal at Limehouse Basin and then to the River Thames.\nThis is a very special London walk.\nDo you bring a packed lunch but there will be plenty of places to eat on the way!\nThe walk finishes a short distance upstream on the River Thames to Wapping Station where the Docklands Light Railway will take us to Canada Water and the Jubilee line. Don’t worry about the distances because there will be many opportunities to leave the walk if you are tired.

DESCRIPTION:General Area: Countryside to the South and East sides of Princes Risborough Miles: 8 moderate\nMeeting time: 10.00 Meeting place: Princes Risborough station\nLeader: Janet Clow Leader’s mobile: 07982 208846\nTravel: Chiltern Line train departing 08.52 from Marylebone calls at Wembley Stadium 09.01\,\nNortholt Park 09.07\, South Ruislip 09.12\, West Ruislip 09.19 and arrives at Princes Risborough 09.57.\nCar parking available in station car park or free in nearby side roads on Saturdays.\nNature of walk: A lovely walk taking in the scenery round Princes Risborough\, using field and\nwoodland tracks and paths and a little road walking on quiet lanes. The route includes Horsenden\,\nSaunderton\, Loosley Row\, the (closed down) Pink and Lily pub and the summit of Whiteleaf Hill. Not\ntoo taxing\, but be prepared for a steep descent via steps from Whiteleaf Hill (think Hampden\nClimber in reverse). No facilities on the route\, so please bring lunch.\nEveryone is welcome to call in for tea and cake at Janet and Martin’s as we re-enter Princes\nRisborough\, or continue on a direct route to the station if you are in a hurry.
