SUMMARY:Tonbridge and Tudeley Walk
DESCRIPTION:Meeting time: 12noon Meeting place: Tonbridge Station\nLeader: Michael Romain Leader’s phone: 07818 000849\nTravel:  from Harrow on the Hill Station take the 9.50 southbound Metline train to Finchley Road\, changing onto the southbound Jubilee Line train arriving at London Bridge at 10.22. Transfer to the mainline station to catch the 10.54 Southern train to Tonbridge. Michael will be waiting on the lower concourse at London Bridge before leaving for the platform at 10.45.\nNature of walk: this is a circular walk from Tonbridge via Tudeley through lovely countryside. The main purpose of the walk is to visit the beautiful church at Tudeley. All the windows are stained glass decorated by Marc Chagall. Michael has organised this walk previously for the Liberal Jewish Synagogue and we were invited to join them last year and are again this year. There will be a charge of £8 each to cover entry into the church and a contribution to the excellent guide. Any surplus made from St.Luke’s walkers payments will be donated to St. Luke’s Hospice as happened last year. Michael will accept payment on the day\, but would prefer payment by bank transfer. Bring a packed lunch which can be eaten in the churchyard before meeting the guide at about 14.00. We normally get back to London Bridge at about 1800. DESCRIPTION:General Area:  Southminster to Burnham-on-Crouch. Miles: 5 – 6 miles\, easy\nMeeting time: 11:30 Meeting place: Southminster Station\nLeader: Deborah Tyler Leader’s phone:0796 1382524\nTravel: from Harrow-on-Hill\, Met line\, 9:20 or 9:25 to Liverpool Street for Greater Anglia train\, destination Southend at 10.13  OR to Moorgate and take Elizabeth line to Stratford (same train\, 10.20 from platform 10)  or Shenfield (10.39 usually platform 4) Change at Wickford for the Crouch Valley line train (adjacent platform) dep Wickford 10.55 arriving Southminster ( terminus) at 11.26 Note: Freedom pass holders only need to pay for a ticket from Harold Wood( end of the zones) OR from Shenfield ( cheaper but means an extra change of train if taking Elizabeth Line and changing there for Wickford).\nNature of walk:\neasy 5 or 6 miles (Essex is flat!) down a lane from Southminster then path over fields to the river\, East of Burnham\, and along the sea wall path into Burnham-on-Crouch. A different route from the one led along the river Crouch several times by Hugo\nNo public lavatories in Southminster so use the train!\nRefreshments at Corner Cottage  ( also 6 pubs nearby) .\nReturn from station in Burnham\, easy 15/20 minute walk from Corner Cottage.\nTrains at 14.57\, 15.37\, 16.17 and a direct train without the change at Wickford to Stratford and Liverpool Street at 17.07
